The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Monday sent letters to a number of banks asking for the bank account details of Gazi Ashraf Hossain – a matchmaker popularly known as Ghotok Pakhi Vai.

The NBR also sought detailed information regarding all types of fixed deposit receipts (FDRs), investment and valuables kept in safe deposit boxes by Ghotok Pakhi Vai Private Limited, its Managing Director Ashraf Hossain and Director Sultana Begum Baby.

All banks have been asked to send the information to the NBR within a week of receiving the letter.
