Khulna district administration on Thursday imposed a ban on domestic and foreign tourists from visiting Sundarbans. It also directed local hotels and motels owners to stop booking.

Hotel and motel owners also directed to discourage local and foreign tourists to visit Sundarban.

Tourist police is carrying out campaign among visiting domestic and foreign tourists asking them not to gather or hold any programme at Sundarban.

Tourists’ evacuation from Sundarban started from Thursday morning. At the same time, no one will be allowed to gather insinde Sundarban.

In awake of coronavirus pandemic, the deputy commissioner imposed these restrictions to check the further spread of deadly Covid-19.

Meanwhile, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Patuakhali administrations also have taken such measures to Patenga and Cox’s Bazar, Kuakata Sea beach.
