Private airliner Regent Airways has suspended all its flights -- five international routes and one domestic route -- for three months from today, following the global coronavirus outbreak.

The five international routes are Qatar, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and India, while the domestic route is Cox's Bazar, Ashish Rai Choudhury, chief commercial officer of Regent Airways, told reporters.

Those who have already bought tickets will be refunded or, if they so choose, will be able to use their tickets when the airline resumes service, he added.  

Over the last two weeks, Qatar, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and Indian authorities had suspended its air communication with Bangladesh and several other countries to stop the spread of coronavirus in their countries.

Due to the sharp fall of passengers, the airlines also suspended its flights in the lone domestic route to Cox's Bazar, he also said.

The airline's authorities today informed its officials and staff about the decision and asked most of them to go on leave without pay as the airlines' revenue had become almost non-existent in recent days, said an official of Regent Airways.
