Robi agrees to pay due taxes
Robi has agreed to pay its due taxes by Sunday after the Supreme Court cleared way for the National Board of Revenue to block its account.
Matiur Rahman, the head of Large Taxpayers’ Unit of NBR, said Robi has provided a written statement where it said they will pay Tk 190 million in taxes by Sunday.
The NBR also reversed its February 26 order on Thursday to freeze bank accounts maintained by Robi based on the statement.
Earlier, Robi went to the High Court against the NBR’s move to block the bank accounts and secured an order in its favour on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the Appellate Division cleared the way to block the mobile operator’s accounts after the NBR challenged the High Court decision.
