Razzak urges Germany to further invest in agriculture sector


The Minister of Agriculture Md Abdur Razzak urged Germany to invest and cooperate in increasing the export of agricultural products.

He made the call at a virtual conference titled ‘Opportunities for Export and Trade of Agricultural Products of Bangladesh’ on Thursday, organized by Bangladesh Embassy in Germany and the German Agribusiness Alliance, said a press release here today.

Mentioning that Bangladesh has a very favorable investment atmosphere, he said there are many opportunities and possibilities to further enhance the ongoing trade relations between Bangladesh and Germany, Razzak said.

He said that the Government of Bangladesh has already approved the Gap (GAP) policy to increase the export of agricultural products in compliance with international standards.

Mesbahul Islam, Deputy Chief of Mission of the German Embassy in Dhaka Constanza Zehringer, Executive Chairman of BARC Dr. Sheikh Md. Bakhtiyar, Jens Oding of German Agribusiness Alliance, Md. Saiful Islam, Commercial Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin, Christian Mueller, President of Gapal Gap (GAP), Aniruddha Roy of USAID, Bangladesh spoke on the occasion.
