NBR to host meeting with business owners every month

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) would hold meetings with the business community every month to help improve the country’s business climate, the revenue collecting agency said in a notification on Wednesday.

Under the title “Meet the Business,” the meetings starting this month would also help improve import-export activities, the notification added.

Through the meetings the business leaders would get the opportunity to directly inform NBR officials about their grievances and the troubles they face regarding customs duties, income tax and VAT.

In this way, NBR would get a clear and pragmatic picture of the revenue related troubles businesses face, take effective redressal measures.

The meetings would be held on the second Wednesday. This month’s meeting would be held at 3pm on 10 September at the multipurpose hall room of NBR headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka. Interested businesspeople would have to fill out a Goolge form before attending the meeting, as per NBR’s notification.
