UAE shows keen interest in importing halal animal food from Bangladesh


The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Food Security Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi today expressed her keen interest in importing safe and halal animal food from Bangladesh.

She has shown her interest in this regard with State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru during a bilateral meeting held at the Fisheries Ministry office, a press release said.

Highlighting the widespread development and self-sufficiency of Bangladesh’s fisheries and livestock sector, Khasru offered technical support to the UAE and wished to export halal animal food including fish and meat in their country.

Khasru apprised Al Mehairi of the situation regarding Bangladesh’s marine fisheries, cow-buffaloes and dairy industry saying all foods produced in Bangladesh are totally safe and halal.

Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Dhaka Saed Mohammed Saed Hmaid Almheiri, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Md Raisul Alam Mandal and Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation Chairman Dildar Ahmed were present on the occasion.
