Actor Khalekuzzaman passes away


Renowned actor and freedom fighter Khalekuzzaman died on Tuesday morning.

He was 64 years old at the time of his death and died at his home in Gulshan today (March 21) at 11 am. His namaz-e-janaza held at the mosque in Kurmitola at 5 pm.

Producer Shihab Shaheen (March 21) posted about the actor's death on social media, he wrote, 'Innalillahi Wainna Ilaihi Raziun. My dear, long-time colleague Khalek Bhai passed away this morning. Since 2007, I started working with Khalek Bhai on 'X Factor', many works have been done with Khalek Bhai. He left today. Khalekuzzaman was a great man!!'

Khalekuzzaman was born in Shantahar. his father Dr. Shamsuzzaman was a medical officer of the British Railways and his mother Shaista Akhter Zaman was a housewife. He is one of the first master's degree holders of the Theater and Fine Arts Department of Chittagong University. Several years after the independence of the country, Khalekuzzaman became a listed artist on BTV in 1975. Before that, he acted in numerous stage plays during his school and college life.

He first acted in the drama 'Sarpabhrame Rajju' produced by Nawajesh Ali Khan on BTV. After that, he was praised for acting in many dramas including the serial dramas 'Toma', 'Boro Bari', 'Somoy Asomoy', 'Subarno Samoy'. He first acted in the film 'Anibarna' with Razzak and Kabri. After a long break in films, he acted in Murad Parvez's 'Brihannala'. Then he acted in Shihab Shaheen's 'Chuye Dile Mon'. His last released movie was Anam Biswas's 'Debi'.
