12-day music festival underway at Shilpakala

A 12-day cultural festival titled ‘Gono Jagoroner Sangeet Utsab 2023’ is being held with the participation of five hundred artistes, organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Eleven music groups of the academy are participating in the fest. 

Began on 2 December, the fest is underway at Shilpakala Academy in the capital and different districts in the country.

The slogan of the fest is ‘Apratirodhya Agrajatray Shilpa Niye Pouchhe Jabo Amra Unnotir Shikhare’ (With art we will reach the pinnacle of development by an unstoppable march).

Meanwhile, the festival is being held in the country’s 64 districts consistently. On Tuesday, the divisional festival was held in Mymensingh.  

Director General of the academy Liaquat Ali Lucky joined the programme as the chief guest and delivered a speech online. 

He said, “Our aim is to spread the light of culture at the root level across the country. It is possible to make a humane Bangladesh through cultural practices.” 

‘Gono Jagoroner Sangeet Utsab 2023’ will continue till 13 December. Initially, the fest was scheduled to be held till 7 December.
