PIB DG Shah Alamgir passes away


Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Director General (DG) Shah Alamgir died at a hospital in the capital on Thursday morning. He was 62. 

The eminent journalist breathed his last around 10:10 am at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH). 

PIB trainer Zillhaz Bhuiyan confirmed the information.

On February 21, he was admitted to the hospital for various diseases including diabetic and later on Wednesday he was shifted to the ICU following deterioration of his condition.

Alamgir started his journalism career from student life through joining the first child-teen weekly Kishore Bangla. 

Along with journalism Alamgir served as president and general secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists. 

The Finance today family expressed deep shock at the death of the senior journalist.
