Venezuela will be the energy hub of the United States: Machado

Maria Corina Machado, the chief opposition leader of Venezuela and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has announced her plan to transform her country into the United States' most powerful ally in Latin America and a major hub for energy resources.

In a special interview with Sean Hannity, a popular host of American news outlet Fox News, on Monday (January 5), she expressed this commitment.

Describing January 3 as a 'historic day,' Machado said that on that day, through a U.S. operation resulting in the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro, 'the defeat of tyranny at the hands of justice' was ensured. She believes this event marks a significant milestone not only for Venezuela but also for the global path of safeguarding freedom and human dignity.

Regarding Venezuela's future plans, Machado stated that post-Maduro Venezuela would serve as the United States' biggest ally in ensuring security and disrupting the activities of criminal networks in Latin America. She said that by opening up the Venezuelan market and ensuring the protection of foreign investments, the country Who promises to turn it into the main center of U.S. energy demand. At the same time, he dreams of bringing back millions of citizens forced to flee the country and building a developed and strong nation. Machado emphasizes that if a free and fair election is held, his party will get at least 90 percent of the vote, and he is ready to return to the country 'as soon as possible.' Currently, conducting his operations from an undisclosed location, Machado has sharply criticized the newly appointed interim president, Delsy Rodríguez. He describes Delsy as 'one of the perpetrators of oppression, corruption, and drug trafficking.' Although the Trump administration has currently indicated working with Delsy Rodríguez and there is disagreement among U.S. officials regarding the election timeline, Machado remains firm in his position. It is noteworthy that last Saturday, members of the U.S. elite Delta Force arrested Maduro and his wife from Caracas, and they are currently imprisoned in a Brooklyn prison in New York. While Maduro has pleaded innocent in court, Machado see change as a path to establishing democracy in Venezuela.
