Aftermath of the road accident in Saudi Arabia that killed 10 bangladeshis

The deceased Bangladeshis are: Jamaluddin Majhi, Md Al Amin, Emdadul from Norsingdi; Giasuddin Mridha, Md Manik, from Naogon; Bahadur, Md Monir Hossain from Tangail; Md Jewel, from Kishoreganj; Rafiqul Islam, from Kushtia; and Yunus Ali, from Mymensingh.

The accident occurred as the minivan carrying the workers—who were going from Dammam to Madina, to offer ziarat at the Rawza Mubarak of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)—crashed into a covered van in Shagra, some 200km from Riyadh, after one of its tyres deflated around 6:30am on Thursday.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Friday, Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi said: "Our mission is doing all it can to handle the situation. Our officials are at the spot monitoring everything.

"Having finished all the due legal procedures, arrangements will be made to send the bodies back to Bangladesh."

Among the 17 individuals who were in the accident, five have been admitted to local hospitals. As the condition of the other two injured is critical and they are being treated at a hospital in Riyadh.
