PKSF partner organisations provide assistance worth Tk270m

The PKSF's partner organisations provided various types of assistance worth Tk 270 million (270,000,000) to the people of the country amid the Covid 19 crisis.

The Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), a financial institution founded by the government, has 220 partners organisations across the country which are mostly third generation Microfinance Institutions (MFIs).

Of the total assistance, one day's basic salary of the employees of its affiliated organisations estimated nearly Tk 33.5 million (3.35 crore) has been earmarked to be donated to the prime minister's relief fund.

The organisations have distributed emergency food items worth about Tk 85 million (8.5 crore) to more than 134,000 families across the country.

So far, the MFIs have distributed emergency health care items (such as hand gloves, soaps, sanitisers, masks and person protective equipment (PPE) to various individuals and service providers at a cost of about Tk 123.7 million (12.37 crore).

Besides, about 20.07 million (Tk 2.07 crore) in cash has been provided to the local people's representatives and local administration funds to help the corona victims.

In addition to the above assistance, some organizations are providing healthcare by forming teams of their own doctors and nurses to provide medical advices to corona patients and their families.

Some organisations have also arranged accommodation for doctors and nurses in their offices/guest houses/training centers.
