President, PM mourn death of Queen Elizabeth II


President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condoled death of Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch.

In separate condolence messages, they conveyed deepest sympathy to members of the Royal Family at her death and also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who just returned home Thursday night after concluding a four-day state visit to India, offered Britain's royal family "heartfelt and deep sympathies" over the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her spokesman said.

Bangladesh and Britain enjoy warm ties with British aid agencies playing leading roles in some of the country's development projects.

The Britain’s Queen died at 96, after reigning for 70 years.
