Kabir Bin Anwar made new cabinet secretary


Senior secretary to water resources ministry Kabir Bin Anwar has been appointed as the cabinet secretary.

Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette in this regard on Sunday saying that the order would come into force immediately.

He will replace Khandakar Anwarul Islam.

Kabir Bin Anwar, a career civil servant, will replace the incumbent Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam whose three-year tenure will expire on December 15.

Born on January 1, 1964 in Sirajganj under Rajshahi division, Kabir Bin Anwar joined Bangladesh Civil Service in 1988 as an assistant commissioner.

In his long civil career, he shouldered many responsibilities and served in many important roles including the first secretary in the Embassy of Bangladesh, The Hague, Netherlands, senior assistant secretary in the Finance Division, senior assistant secretary in the Home Ministry and director general (admin) at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Meanwhile, Nazmul Ahsan, chairman (additional secretary) of Petrobangla, has been made secretary to the Water Resources Ministry, it added.
