Argentine President thanks Bangladesh for supporting Argentina


Argentine President Alberto Fernandez thanked the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, the letter he sent celebrating the achievement of the third world soccer title by the Argentine National Team and called to “deepen” the link between both nations.

“Thank you Sheikh Hasina and the entire people of Bangladesh. The union and mutual affection that we have seen in recent weeks has become inexplicable, Both flags are also flying here today. Let’s deepen this link,” Fernández wrote on his official account on the social network Twitter, in a message in which he also shared the statement signed by the Bangladeshi prime minister.

This Monday, Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the Argentine president to express his “heartfelt congratulations” to Argentina for “the spectacular victory” in the World Cup in Qatar after having triumphed against France in the final of the contest played last Sunday.

In the text, the official highlighted “affection and love for football” and the Argentine national team that connects both countries, and remarked that the people of Bangladesh “has shown their admiration and love through the spontaneous celebration of the victory in the Soccer World Cup.”

He also stated that he hopes that this “unprecedented” demonstration between the two peoples has “paved the way for strong bilateral relations.”

“To this end, I hope to further consolidate our relations by opening missions in each of the other capitals in the coming days,” the official statement closed.

With the reopening of the Embassy and its consular section, it is sought exploit the potential of the bilateral relationship, fundamentally in the commercial aspect that has a wide potential for growth, seeking to diversify trade and the Argentine exportable offer.
