Rain, thundershowers likely


Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours ending 9 am tomorrow (Wednesday).

"Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of light rain or thundershowers at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the district of Kishoreganj," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Besides, light to moderate fog may occur at places over the river basins and southern part of the country during tomorrow's early morning, it added.

Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded 32.0 degree Celsius in Sitakunda in Chattogram, while today's minimum temperature was 16.1 degree Celsius in Tetulia in Rangpur.

The sun sets at 5.57 pm today (Tuesday) and rises at 6.27 am tomorrow (Wednesday) in the capital.
