CAAB launches courses to improve airport service

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has introduced specialised course for agency officials to maintain ‘international standard’ in services at all airports.

CAAB chairman M Mafidur Rahman inaugurated the two-day course styled ‘passenger service and facilitation in civil aviation’ at Civil Aviation Academy in Kurmitola of Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release.

In first batch, some 30 officials of customs, immigration, APBN, airport medical, National Security Intelligence, aviation security and airliners of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) participated in the course.

Addressing the inaugural session, Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman said that the course will make ‘significant contribution’ for improving services at airports in line with national integrity strategy of the government.

Rahman mentioned that the course will continue as it is mandatory for all officers on-duty at all airports.

After completion of the course, officers will receive a court pin along with a certificate as mark of their status with the service facilitation at airports.

Civil Aviation Academy Director Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty made address of welcome emphasising on cooperative relationship among the officials of all airports of the country to provide improved service to the passengers.

HSIA Director Muhammed Kamrul Islam shared the plan for capacity building of 1500 staff of 56 agencies on-duty gradually at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The top official of the main airport of the country hoped that the course with standards of International Civil Aviation Organization will bring ‘revolutionary changes’ in passenger services of all airports.
