CNG filling stations to remain open for 24-hour during Eid

The government has decided to keep all Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations open 24 hours a total of 15 days during Eid-ul-Azha vacation.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the CNG filling stations will remain operational for 24 hours on the day of Eid-ul-Azha, seven days before and seven days after Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister made the remark in a preparatory meeting at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) office on Thursday noon.

The CNG filling stations will remain open in order to ensure smooth travels for Eid holidaymakers, he added.

Due to an ongoing gas crisis, CNG stations are currently required to remain closed for six hours from 5 pm to 11 pm.

The requirement will be lifted during the 15-day period. After that, however, the filling stations will return to the usual operating hours.
