Chief Adviser opens Police Week-2025


Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the three-day Police Week-2025at Rajarbagh Police Lines here this morning.

Later, he exchanged views with police officers at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium.

This year's theme is "Amar Police Amar Desh, Boishommyohin Bangladesh" (My Police, My Country, and Discrimination-Free Bangladesh).

"We want to instill this thought in the minds of the countrymen so that they can say that this police of Bangladesh, free from discrimination, are ours," the IGP said.

The top officer of Bangladesh police said that this year, the week will be observed in a more concise format, with an emphasis on functionality over formality.

IGP Alam said the event will involve in-depth discussions on enhancing the effectiveness of police activities, addressing challenges faced by police units, and devising strategies for overcoming them.

Special focus will be given on strengthening stability, maintaining discipline in society, and ensuring a safe environment for citizens, he added.

Field-level police units will review ground realities and prepare an action plan for the coming year based on these discussions, he added.

There will be citizen engagement sessions during the Police Week to gather public opinions on policing. The IGP expressed hope that this initiative will help make the police force more people-oriented.
