Govt considering DA for public sector employees: Finance adviser

The government is actively considering providing dearness allowance (DA) to government employees, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat, he said, “We have formed a committee in this regard. Once they complete their work, they will submit a recommendation to me.”

He said there is a strong possibility that employees will receive the allowance. “I will work it out in the budget,” he added.

The finance adviser, however, declined to disclose the specific percentage of DA under consideration at this stage.
