Jatiya Party unveils new 20-party coalition
A new 20-party political coalition, titled the National Democratic Front (NDF), was formally launched on Monday under the joint leadership of Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud’s Jatiya Party (JaPa) and Anwar Hossain Manju’s Jatiya Party (JP).
The alliance was announced at a press conference held at the Emmanuel’s Party Centre in Gulshan, where leaders from the participating parties presented the coalition’s vision and objectives.
Alongside JaPa and JP, the remaining member organisations of the new alliance include: Janata Party Bangladesh, Bangladesh National Party, Trinamool BNP, Bangladesh Cultural Freedom Alliance, Bangladesh Nationalist Movement, Bangladesh Muslim League, National Islamic Grand Alliance, National Reform Alliance, Bangladesh Labour Party, Swadhin Party, National Freedom Party, Bangladesh Human Rights Party, Bangladesh Universal Party, Bangladesh Welfare Party, Applied Democratic Party, Bangladesh Democratic Movement, Democratic Party and Bangladesh National League.
Leaders of the NDF said the coalition aims to create a broader political platform focused on democratic reforms and inclusive national participation.
Further details regarding the coalition’s programmes and future activities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
