13th National Parliamentary ElectionCEC urges everyone to vote, accept results

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has urged all the voters of the country to cast ballots spontaneously and peacefully in the national elections slated to be held tomorrow.

In a speech to the nation on Wednesday, he also called on everyone to accept the results, whether it means victory or defeat.

He requested everyone concerned to make the elections a success.

He also warned that any untoward incident will be dealt with a “strong hand,” urging everyone to assist the law enforcement agencies to this end.

“Come to the polling centres spontaneously, cast your vote, and accept the result,” he urged the people of the country.

Casting votes is not only a civic right of the people but also a civic duty, which must be performed consciously, he added.

The chief election commissioner urged all the participating political parties, election candidates as well as voters to ensure peace and harmony at the polling centres. All must act responsibly and ignore personal losses for making the “grand process of elections” a success, he noted.
