Tamim Iqbal elected new BCB president, Fahim Sinha vice president

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has been elected as the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) while Fahim Sinha was chosen as the vice president.

Tamim earlier emerged as the leading vote-getter in elections for the BCB on Sunday, as candidates aligned with the governing body's interim leadership sealed a strong majority.

The former opening batter has become the 21th president to hold the position in the organisation’s history.

The appointment was confirmed through a vote conducted among the newly elected board directors after the completion of the BCB election process.

Tamim’s elevation marks another significant milestone in his growing role within Bangladesh cricket administration.

Earlier in the election, he secured the highest number of votes in Category 2, representing the club representatives, underlining his strong support within the cricketing community.

The 37-year old will now assume leadership of the country's cricket governing body at a crucial juncture, with considerable expectations surrounding the continued growth and development of the sport.
