Soybean oil price increased by Tk8 per litre

The Ministry of Commerce has decided to increase the price of soybean oil in the market by Tk8 per litre.

The decision to increase the price was announced at a press briefing on the edible oil situation at the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.

Now, the price of bottled soybeans will be 175 taka per litre, while loose soybeans will be sold at 157 taka. Previously, bottled oil was priced at Tk167 and loose oil at Tk149.

Trade Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin announced this information at the secretariat following a meeting with traders regarding edible oil prices.

Earlier, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said there is no shortage of edible oil in the market and the intern government has taken steps to ensure adequate supply of the oil during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
