Abdul Hannan Molla, father of slain eight-year-old Ramisa Akter, has expressed satisfaction with the verdict in the rape and murder case, saying it has delivered the justice he had long hoped for.

Expressing immediate reaction after the court verdict, Ramisa’s father, Abdul Hannan, said he was fully satisfied with the judgment.

“I am 100% happy, Alhamdulillah. I have received the expectation and desire I had in my heart from this verdict. InshaAllah, I am fully hopeful that the verdict will be implemented soon,” he said.

Ramisa’s father made the remarks in his immediate reaction after the court delivered its judgment in the case over the brutal rape and murder of his daughter in Pallabi, Dhaka.

He also voiced hope that justice would be ensured swiftly in all cases involving violence against children.

“I hope every Ramisa in Bangladesh receives justice without delay and that such incidents never happen again in our country,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude, saying, “By the mercy of Almighty Allah and within the timeframe given by the Honourable Prime Minister, we have received the expected verdict. I sincerely thank the honourable judge, the police administration, journalists, and the people of Bangladesh who supported me and my family during our difficult time.”

“I definitely want to see the swift execution of my daughter’s murder verdict,” he added.

A special tribunal in Dhaka today sentenced prime accused Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Khatun to death in the case.

The verdict came just 19 days after the horrific incident took place on May 19 in Dhaka’s Pallabi area, which sparked nationwide outrage and prompted the government to pledge swift justice.
