School research programmes kicks off in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar with workshops
The 2025 edition of the school research program by Chintar Chash began this week with back-to-back workshops in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar, engaging students from grades 7 to 10 in early research education.
The Chittagong event, titled Gobeshonay Harekhori (Beginning in Research), was held on April 16 at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy Chattogram.
Organized by Chintar Chash, the workshop featured sessions on the philosophy of science, research ethics, and topic selection. Resource persons included Executive Director S.M. Mesbah Ar Rahman and Director Jahidul Islam.
The workshop was coordinated by Nusrat Jahan Mim, president of the organization’s district committee.
Teachers from several local schools, including Leaders School and College, Nasirabad Government High School, CMP School and College, and Chittagong Cantonment Board High School also participated in the programme.
A similar workshop was held a day earlier on April 15 in Cox’s Bazar at Baitush Sharaf Jebbaria Academy School and College.
Jahidul Islam and Chintar Chash Central Executive Committee Secretary Shamsuddoha Soumik led the sessions.
Among the guests were Director General of the Baitush Sharaf Complex M.M. Sirajul Islam and faculty members from different branches of the host institution.
Students who pass the initial phase of the research programme will be invited to present at the 10th Chintar Chash Young Researchers Conference, scheduled for October 11, 2025, at Dhaka University's Teacher-Student Center (TSC).
