Another major reshuffle in police higher-ups

In another major reshuffle in the police administration, the home ministry has transferred 74 senior officials to different units.

Among them, 50 officers are in the rank of superintendent of police (SP) while 24 others in the rank of additional superintendent of police (ASP).

Three separate gazette notifications were issued by the Public Security Division under the ministry on Monday.

Upon the order of President Mohammed Shahabuddin, the move was taken for the sake of public interest, according to notifications signed by the division’s deputy secretary, Md Mahbubur Rahman.

The orders will come into effect immediately.

Since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government in the face of the mass uprising, the police administration has undergone changes a number of times after the interim government took power on 8 August.
