Cop killed in Savar road crash On a duty

An on-duty police constable was killed as a bus hit him on Bypail-Abdullahpur highway in Nishchintapur area of Ashulia on Sunday morning, UNB reports.

The deceased was identified as Constable William Marty, 20, of Industrial Police-1 and hailing from Rajshahi.

Shaminur Rahman, director of Industrial Police-1, said that the accident took place around 6:45 am when a bus of ‘Classic Paribahan’ hit William, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.
