President reaches London for health checkup

President M Abdul Hamid on Saturday reached London for health check-up and treatment of eyes.

“Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Nazmul Quaunine received the President after arriving at the Heathrow Airport around 9:15 pm Bangladesh time,” President's Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin told UNB.

Earlier, a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the President took off from Shahjalal International Airport around 11 am.

The President is scheduled to have his check-up at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London.

President Abdul Hamid is expected to return home on July 15.

He also underwent health check-up in London in October last year.
