HSIA fire fully under control: CAAB


The fire that broke out at the cargo village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 2:15pm on Saturday has been fully brought under control, authorities confirmed.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority and the Fire Service, the blaze was contained swiftly through rapid and coordinated efforts by airport officials, firefighters, and other emergency teams.

Officials also confirmed that no casualties have been reported in the incident.

All firefighting operations have been completed, and the fire has been completely extinguished. Regular flight operations are set to resume from 9pm on Saturday night.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser is currently on-site, closely monitoring the situation, said a press release.

The ministry is working in close coordination with all relevant agencies to ensure that operations return to normal safely and efficiently.

Authorities added that an investigation will soon be launched to determine the cause of the fire. Necessary steps will be taken to prevent any recurrence of such incidents in the future.

The ministry also expressed sincere gratitude to passengers and the public for their patience and cooperation during the emergency response.
