National Citizen Party (NCP) starts political journeyNo room for pro-Indian, Pakistani politics in Bangladesh: Nahid
Nahid Islam, the newly appointed convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has categorically said that there will be no space for Indian or Pakistani politics in Bangladesh.
“Bangladesh will no longer be divided by any external conspiracy,” he said while addressing a public rally held on Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka on Friday evening to inaugurate the NCP.
Claiming that the young generation thwarted the plot to weaken Bangladesh through the July mass upsurge, he said, “We will rebuild the country for the sake of the country and its people.”
At the beginning of his speech as chief of the newly formed party, Nahid commemorated the students and the common people who sacrificed their lives and sustained injuries during the mass upsurge and extended his heartfelt gratitude for their contributions.
He also extended his greetings to the political parties and other dignitaries during his speech.
He said, “We want to talk about the future. I want to talk about Bangladesh's potentials forgetting the past history.”
