Home Minister to participate in the Global Fraud Summit in Vienna
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed is set to attend the Global Fraud Summit 2026, scheduled to take place in Vienna, the capital of Austria. The two-day summit (March 16-17) is being organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the international police organization, Interpol.
The Minister will lead a five-member Bangladesh delegation at the summit, which will be held at the Vienna International Conference Centre.
During the event, the Minister will participate in the opening and plenary sessions. He will also take part as a panelist in a high-level roundtable discussion titled "Global Fraud Response Mechanism" and a high-level special session on "National Commitments/Pledges on Combatting Fraud."
Additionally, as part of the sideline events, the Minister is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the UNODC Executive Director, John Brandolino, and the UK Minister of State for the Home Office, Lord Hanson.
It is noteworthy that the Minister will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today, March 15, at 4:50 PM via Ethiopian Airlines to attend the summit. He is expected to return to Dhaka on March 20 at 5:35 AM via Turkish Airlines.
