BCB gave Rubel a farewell reception

Fast bowler Rubel Hossain was officially honored by the BCB at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today, ahead of the second ODI against New Zealand.

Having retired from international cricket on April 15, the 36-year-old pacer expressed his gratitude to BCB President Tamim Iqbal for the special reception.

In an emotional speech, Rubel credited renowned coach Sarwar Imran for discovering him through a pacer hunt and acknowledged his parents for their lifelong support.

Rubel, who represented Bangladesh in 27 Tests, 104 ODIs, and 28 T20Is, will forever be remembered for his iconic spell against England in the 2015 World Cup, which propelled Bangladesh into its first-ever ICC tournament knockout stage.
