BD envoy to Kuwait meets FBCCI president


Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait Major Gen Md Ashikuzaman paid a courtesy call on FBCCI President Jashim Uddin at the latter’s office in the capital on Thursday.

During the call on, they discussed various issues related to trade and investment between Bangladesh and Kuwait including ICT, skill development, plastic, pharmaceutical, RMG sector, light engineering, fish & vegetables, fresh fruits, processing food, said a FBCCI press release on Thursday.

They also discussed on openings of manpower export to Kuwait during the meeting.

The ambassador said that there is lack of interaction between the business communities of Bangladesh and Kuwait. He stressed on government level and private sector engagement on matters of mutual interest and facilitating beneficial partnerships.

The FBCCI president said, there are a good number of Bangladeshi restaurants in the middle eastern countries including Kuwait. If Bangladesh can export spices, raw food items, tea, fruits and vegetables to Kuwait targeting those restaurants, it will contribute remarkably to the country’s economy.

FBCCI Senior Vice-President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, vice presidents MA Momen, Habib Ullah Dawn, directors Abu Naser, SM Shafiuzzaman, COO of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mahbubul Karim, CEO of FBCCI Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque and delegations of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) were also present on the occasion.
