Gold prices rise by Tk 1,750 per bhori


The prices of gold have gone up by Tk 1,750 to Tk 78,849 a bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market, Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) said on Monday.

BAJUS announced the fresh prices three weeks after the association lowered the prices of the precious metal.

The association took the decision because of the price hike of gold in the local bullion market, BAJUS said in a press release.

The new prices will come into effect from Tuesday.

Under the increased rates, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 78,849 per bhori, 21-carat gold at Tk 75,350, and 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk 64,560 per bhori in the local market.

Besides, the price for the traditional method gold has increased by Tk 1,225 to Tk 53,830 per bhori.

BAJUS has kept the prices of silver unchanged.

The price of 22-carat silver is Tk 1,516 per bhori, 21-carat Tk 1,435 and 18-carat Tk 1,225 per bhori in the local market.

The price for the traditional method silver is Tk 933 per bhori.
