BSMMU fever clinic to take online appointments from Monday

The fever clinic at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will take online appointments from Monday to reduce sufferings caused by long queues and prevent the spread of the disease due to crowding.

It will also improve the service quality at the clinic and the Covid-19 diagnostic laboratory, according to a press release issued on Saturday.

Patients have to register for appointments online by providing their names, addresses, gender, age and mobile phone numbers through the appointment form available on the BSMMU website.

BSMMU will then notify patients about their appointment timing through an SMS. The patients have to show the text at the fever clinic before taking treatment. The system is also applicable if somebody wants to avail services from the Covid-19 diagnostic laboratory.

People with special quotas, including frontline health service providers, journalists, police and freedom fighters will also have to follow the procedure.

Appointments will be taken from 8am for the next day only. Nobody will be given treatment without online registration, the press release reads.
