Executive Committee for 2026-27 formed BSHNS's new President Dr. Sattar, GS Dr. Karim

Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Sattar has been elected as the president of the new executive committee of the Bangladesh Society for Head and Neck Surgeons (BSHNS) and Dr. Md. Abdul Karim has been elected as the general secretary.

The new committee was unanimously announced at a meeting held on May 12 (Tuesday) at the National Institute of ENT auditorium in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

The meeting, chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Sattar, was conducted by Dr. M. Ashekur Rahman. In the meeting, Professor Dr. Md. Khabir Uddin Patwary and Professor Dr. Md. Abbas Uddin were nominated as the vice-chairmen of the newly formed committee.

Also present at the meeting were Professor Dr. Md. Mazharul Shaheen, Convener of the Bangladesh Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist and Head and Neck Surgeons Association, and Professor Dr. Md. Hasan Zafar, Member Secretary of the organization.

The main goal of this committee is to overcome the organizational stagnation of the society, make it more dynamic, and strengthen academic and organizational ties with international head-neck organizations.

It is hoped that the newly formed committee will play an important role in academic activities, research, training, and raising public awareness on head and neck surgery.
