7 killed in Israeli attack in Lebanon

At least seven people were killed and dozens injured on Wednesday (April 1) in Israeli airstrikes targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut and the nearby town of Khalde.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, five people died in the Jnah district, while a separate strike on a vehicle in Khalde killed two others.

The Israeli military confirmed it had targeted a senior Hezbollah commander and another operative in these strikes, following Hezbollah's entry into the broader conflict on March 2 in retaliation for the assassination of Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

As Israel intensifies its air and ground offensive across Lebanon, Hezbollah continues to claim significant counter-attacks against Israeli forces along the border and within Lebanese territory.
