Hajj and Umarah Management Law being enacted

The government is going to enact new law instead of making policy for Hajj and Umarah Management,

In this regard, the Cabinet on Monday approved the draft policy on Hajj and Umrah Management Law, 2020 in a cabinet meeting.

The meeting was held virtually with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The premier joined the meeting from her official residence Ganabhaban while ministers joined from the cabinet division at the secretariat.

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam came up with the information at a press conference after emerging from the meeting.

The Hajj management was being conducted till date in line with policies. Under such a situation, it was difficult to go for action. Hajj and Umrah agencies used to go to the court for stay order against actions, he added.
