Mizan Malik elected CRAB president, Alauddin Arif GS
Mizan Malik, journalist of the daily Jugantor, has been elected President of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) and Alauddin Arif of the daily Desh Rupantor its General Secretary.
Mizan Malik has got 159 votes while his nearest rival candidate Mirza Mehedi Tomal secured 104 votes.
Alauddin Arif has secured 150 votes and his rival Asaduzzaman 109 votes.
In the CRAB election held on Saturday, Nitya Gopal Tutu has been made Vice- President bagging 137 votes while his nearest contestant Muhammad Jahangir Alam 120 votes.
Bagging 105 votes, Hasan-Uz-Zaman was elected as Joint Secretary of the CRAB. His nearest opponent candidate Abdul Latif Rana got 145 votes.
The other office bearers are: finance secretary Md Emdadul Haque Khan, organising secretary Shahriar Arif, publicity and publication secretary Rudra Mizan, office secretary SM Ismail Hossain Imu, training and ICT secretary Sajjad Mahmud Khan, sports and cultural secretary Saif Bablu, welfare secretary Nahid Tonmoy, and international secretary Rudra Russell.
Three executive members are Golam Sattar Rony, Kazi Jamshed Nazim, and SM Mintu Hossain.
Some 270 voters out of 281 exercised their franchise in the election.
