8 trucks burned as ferry catches fire in Meghna
Eight trucks have been burned as a ferry caught fire while crossing the Meghna River in Bhola.
No casualties were reported.
Sujon Kumar Pal, officer-in-charge of Bhola police station chief confirmed the news.
The Bhola-bound ferry named Kalmilota left Lakshmipur with 11 trucks. It caught fire in Meghna River in a point which is the middle of Bholar Char of Bhola Sadar Upazila and Motirhat of Laxipur early hours of Thursday
Staff and passengers were rescued by a fishing trawler.
The firemen rushed to the spot and doused the fire, source said.
