Pay workers' salary-bonus by May 10: Monnujan

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Mannujan Sufian has urged the owners to pay salaries, allowance and bonuses to the workers in all sectors including garments by May 10 ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

She made the call while addressing the 67th meeting of the Tripartite Advisory Committee and the 8th meeting of the RMG TCC Committee as the chair at the conference room of Srama Bhaban In Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

The state minister also asked the owners to pay salary or any dues of the previous month.

"Many factory owners still did not pay workers' salaries for the month March," the state minister said, urging all factory owners to pay all arrears along with April's salaries and Eid bonus by May 10.

Labour and Employment Secretary, KM Abdus Salam; its Additional Secretary, Dr. Rezaul Haque; Senior Vice President of BGMEA, SM Mannan Kochi; Acting President of Bangladesh Jatiya Sramik League, Nur Kutub Alam; among others, were present at the meeting.
