Vessel movement suspended across country

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority has suspended all types of vessel movement across the country until further notice.

BIWTA chairman Commodore Golam Sadeq confirmed the matter to media on Tuesday.

The directive came after a Met Office bulletin said cyclonic storm 'Yaas' was moving from the east-central bay and adjoining areas and was likely to move further northwest by tomorrow noon.

Maritime ports in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
