Curfew to be lifted in 7 days: Salman

Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Affairs Adviser Salman F Rahman has said that the curfew will be lifted in the next seven days to support the businessmen in overcoming all challenging situations.

Salman told reporters after emerging from a view exchange meeting with business leaders at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) conference room in the city on Sunday.

“Curfew is being relaxed every day and will be over in the next seven days, Inshallah,” said the PM’s adviser.

In response to the businessmen’s demand for separate internet facilities amid the evolving situation, he acknowledged that conducting business without internet access is now very challenging.

“We are now gradually returning to the normal situation in light of the decision taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

He also endorsed that the businessmen in Dhaka and its adjoining areas have been incurring huge losses as a consequence of the quota reform movement.

Amid the evolving situation following the quota reform movement, the government imposed a nationwide curfew and deployed armed forces on 20 July to assist the civil administration in ensuring national security and protecting lives and properties.
