Five-day holiday announced for Durga Puja

Holidays will run from 20 to 24 October

The government has announced a five-day holiday for Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.

This announcement was made through an executive order issued by the government on Tuesday. According to the order, the holidays will run from 20 to 24 October.

The government holiday calendar already includes 20 and 21 October as holidays on the occasion of Durga Puja, while 22 October has now been declared a holiday through an executive order, followed by the weekly holidays on 23 and 24 October (Friday and Saturday).

In addition to the government holidays, two days of optional leave have been provided for Hindu government officials and employees.
