Prime Bank launches JCB Platinum Credit Card


Prime Bank Ltd on Sunday launched the JCB Platinum Credit Card—the first bank in Bangladesh to do so. 

Representatives of the bank announced the new feature at a press conference held at the Intercontinental Dhaka. 

Speaking at the conference, Prime Bank Managing Director and CEO Rahel Ahmed said: "We have taken many initiatives to create a cashless society in our country. We launched this card as a part of these initiatives. 

JCB Co Ltd was established in 1961 as a pioneering credit card payment system for the people of Japan. From the very start, it was focused on providing new opportunities built on the emerging needs and aspirations of its customers.  

“The Japanese are very cooperative. In the near future, we will launch a Japanese desk in our bank,” Rahel added. 

JCB cards are now issued in over 20 countries and can be used for payment worldwide. JCB Platinum Credit Card will allow the Prime Bank customers to experience zero annual fee for the first year, 20 onward annual fee free  transactions yearly, free supplementary card, lowest card cheque processing fee, and zero cash advance fee on withdrawal of money from ATM booths.

Furthermore, customers  will enjoy Easy Pay Facility, Free Priority Pass Club membership covering 1200+ lounges worldwide, unlimited free access at Balaka VIP lounge and free protocol service at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, complementary buy-one-get-one dining facility at all the five-star hotels in Bangladesh, various discount facilities, and free accidental health insurance coverage for Tk10 lakh.

Among others, Prime Bank Additional Managing Director Habibur Rahman, Head of Consumer Banking ANM Mahfuz, and Executive Vice President of JCB Co Ltd Yuichiro Kadowaki, were also present at the event.
