Gold price jumps by Tk 2,333 per bhori

The gold price has increased by Tk2,333 per bhori in the local market with effect from at 1:00pm Monday.

Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) announced the increase considering import problem amid Covid pandemic and price soaring in the international market.

Price of 22 carat bhori (11.664gm) of gold increasing by Tk 2,333 has stood at Tk 71,443.

The 21-carat gold has jumped to Tk 68,293 while 18-carat gold Tk 59,544 and gold acquired in traditional method Tk 49,022.

Price of silver will remain intact with each bhori of 22-carat selling at Tk 1,516 while 21-carat and 18-carat silver at Tk 1,435 and Tk 1,225 respectively. The price of silver acquired in traditional methods is Tk 933 per bhori.
