3 arrested with 1,500 litres of stolen diesel in Feni


Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three persons with 1,500 litres of stolen diesel in Feni.

The diesel was recovered from a pickup from under Fatehpur railway overpass near Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

The arrestees are identified as Md Abdullah, 55, son of late Abdur Rahman of Dakhkhin Khan, Md Abu Taher, 34, son of late Farid Uddin of Uttar Sharshadi, and Abdur Rahim, 22, son of Dulal Hossain of Bagadana union under Sonagazi.

During interrogation, the arrestees said they collected fuel from a driver of goods-laden train at low price to sell it at profit.

Superintendent of Police in Feni Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the arrest and recovery of stolen fuel to the journalists at his office Saturday noon. Additional SP (Crime and Ops) Nadia Farzana and Additional SP (Sadar Circle) Thowaiaungpru Marma were present. 

“Tipped off, a team of DB took position near the underpass around 5:00 am. They intercepted a pickup and recovered 1,500 litres of diesel and arrested three persons.”

District DB Inspector Md Faisal Ahmed said a case was filed in connection with stealing diesel of railway, adding drive to arrest the train driver was underway.
