“Many of the successful persons in the world did not have higher degrees, but they were enlightened by reading books going beyond syllabus.”

Since inception, Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to revamp education sector in the light of liberation principles, she said.

The government is placing importance on vocational and technical education to generate skilled manpower catering to the global competition, she added.

Dr Dipu Moni also stressed the lessons which inculcate in the children the sense honesty, sincerity, humanity and patriotism.

Meherpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Mansur Alam Khan presided over the programme.
